Bridge 2023 - Thumbnails and Previews not generated for large files

Bridge 2023 (version 13.0.0.562) not generating thumbnails or previews for files larger than 1GB even though I have the threshold set at 5GB. After purging the cache and restarting it still doesn't work.

Is anyone from Adobe going to respond to this topic and say "we have listened to you over many years" and we have finally fixed the issue??? It is so frustrating as I love Bridge and can't understand why 1GB is an issue with thumbnail generation.

Not sure if this is a complete solution but...

Preferences / Thumbnails / Performance and File Handling /

Set the first line "Do No Process Files Larger than XXXX MB" I set it to 1800 and am getting thumbnails for larger files. Once I close and restart Bridge that is.

same issue in 2024. It just started happening randomly for me on an idle tuesday where it wouldn't show any previews. I went in and manually gave Bridge access in security settings becausee somehow that got reset. I've since reinstalled, updated my OS and Bridge. Purged and repurged caches...cranked up the thumbnail genersation size. Plenty of ram I think. Very frusterating as an issue persists now where I can't get any previews now for files above a GB. I don't know where the problem lies.

ditto, I've accepted my fate and now use Eagle for viewing. See my note above about the misery this requires

this is so annoying and makes bridge USELESS. We pay a lot for Adobe apps and this is unacceptable.

ugh, Eagle is proving to be it's own nightmare, sorry folks. You have to copy in all your assets BUT then you can't edit them there or things get messy so, if you do not edit any of your assets (as if) you'll love Eagle, if not,

Any other suggestions?
