Bridge 2023 will not start again

When Bridge 2023 is exited, with (x) or via the menu, it can't be run again.

It is still running in the background and cannot be restarted until that process is terminated via Task Manager.

Also it seems that the workflow (screen layout) last used is not reopened as it normally would be - the settings are not saved.

This behavior occured after I removed Bridge and Photoshop from my pc to make a fresh installation - (due to an error in Photoshop). 

I have not experienced this behavior with Bridge before.

Running under Win 11 on a Lenovo Laptop-6TFDNSO9, installed 8 GB RAM, total virtual memory 22.8 GB.
