Bridge 202x Crashing

Last week Bridge 2024 worked fine. I upgraded to 2025. Now any version I try to use crashes about 2 minutes after I open it.

  • I've cleared preferences and purged cache.
  • I've tried disabling startup scripts.
I've uninstalled and installed 3 different v14.x options (and clearing preferences/cache/disabling scripts) all giving the same results.
  • On startup it still shows my same three panels that I use. One is a folder with 6 vector files. It says "6 Items (generating previews)".

At some point, I clicked the "Automatically report" checkbox so I'm not sure how to get an error log to post.

I think the uninstaller is leaving behind some trash when it cleans up on exit. There were still Bridge files and folders in Program Files and AppData.

Convoluted fix:

  1. Uninstall all versions of bridge.
  2. Go to Program Files, delete all Bridge folders and contents. Check Program Files (x86) just in case.
  3. Search C drive for "Bridge," remove all Bridge folders and contents in User/AppData/Roaming/Adobe.
  4. Install Bridge 2025 and now it just works
