Bridge Batch Rename is creating more copies of the same file

Hi there,

I have an issue with Bridge who is messing up my files after I run batch rename, as can be seen in the attach screen captures. Some time ago I had it rolled back from Bridge 2017 just because it did not offered anymore the Image Processor in PS and was kind of slow. At that time I had both of them uninstalled completely therefore I don't see any link on the issue, but who knows!?!

The point is that after exporting the pictures from LR, pictures taken by up to 4 cameras at a certain event, I need to rename all these files so that in the end I have a continuous countdown along with a dedicated file name (Name+no.). Well, sometimes batch rename works, sometimes it just creating more copies by its own. For instance the example attached worked fine and the customer received the pictures in the proper condition. Today when I have reopened the folder I was surprised tat it was messed up. Moreover, some of these copies can be deleted under Bridge, some not. If a certain copy reaches the trash its name does look a bit different from what it had under Bridge, having added like four zeros in the end (instead of "Name #004.jpg" it turns into Name "#004000.jpg".

If I look at the whole bunch of pictures in Finder, they look pretty fine, although scrolling them make some impossible to be previewed nor opened with Preview.

If by chance I connect the external drive, where I have these files stored with a Windows computer, they look just fine, therefore there's something wrong between MAC and Bridge or the other way around.

I'm running MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 on a 2014 Retina Macbook Pro, 2.6Ghz, 8GB RAM and 128 GB SSD. I keep all my files on an external 500GB Samsung T1 SSD connected through an USB port.

Thanks in advance for any clue on what do I have to do so that I get rid of this annoying issue.

I would recommend the third party Image Processor Pro script (better than Image Processor) for Bridge/Photoshop which I have v3.2b5 working in both CS6 and CC 2017:

    ps-scripts - Browse /Image Processor Pro at SourceForge.net

    Hi again, Mohit,

That would be the most easy way. However, as I wrote Bridge 2017 doesn't come with the Image Processor option anymore that I use very often mainly to batch resize my pictures. That's an easy flow for me and less time consuming. That's the reason I've rolled back to Bridge 2015. Batch Rename issue must have a reason behind and I wouldn't like to become a beta tester for 2017 version.

    Thanks for understanding.

    BR,

    Adrian

    Hi Mohit,

Thanks for your reply. My Bridge version is 6.3.1.186. I've tried to reset it, to uninstall it, to clear cache, but nothing so far.

    Regards,

    Adrian

    Hi AdrianAndrunachi,

Please let us know the version of Adobe Bridge you are using, also have tried resetting Bridge preferences back to defaults as a troubleshooting step?
