Question

Bridge CC as photo sorting/database

Can my 4 person team use Bridge as a photo database?

We want to be able to tag photos and sort photos with ease. We have about 40 products and have thousands of photos. We need to be able to search through all of them fairly quickly and find what we need.

Currently, we use the folder system but that is proving less than efficient. If not Bridge, do you have another recommendation? TIA

Bridge is just a way to sort through a folder-based system. If you need true team functionality, you will need to invest in an actual server DAM.

Can my 4 person team use Bridge as a photo database?

Bridge is a file browser, it is not a database/catalogue program. The 2019 version does have a central sharable cache, older versions had stand alone cache that had to be exported for others in the work group to access.

This is possible, however the keywords file, collections and smart collections etc. are all stand alone and local to each machine. They can be shared and manually updated among all computers, you’ll just need to decide on a workable solution among the four users (one “publisher/controller" that manages the keywords and three “subscribers”, or a free for all approach that may require more management).

You may be looking for a locally hosted server LAN or perhaps a web based DAM system that is designed for multiple users, there are many out there however I can’t recommend one.
