Bridge CC has become unusable :(

There are already several questions about Br being very slow or constantly non-responsive. I myself have the same problem in both my installations (in quite good rigs - Windows 7). The gradual deterioration of Br's performance has begun since CC 2017 and after each update it's getting worse.

I have tried all tricks, from cache to unchecking scripts and defautling the program, from compatibility mode to starting from the Cloud app, etc. Nothing really works. I have seen some improvement, but Br remains so slow, that I cannnot work with it. I already miss CS6.

So @Adobe, should I end my subrsciption and get back to CS6, οr can you do something about it?

Hi,

Can you please suggest the Adobe Bridge version and build number you are using. You can get this information from "About Bridge..." dialog in Help menu.

Additionally, please suggest about following wrt your computer

1. Processor model and number of cores

2. RAM Memory

3. Hard Disk space

4. File types used in Bridge

5. CameraRaw version installed, Photoshop version installed

Please suggest.

Also do not purge cache frequently, since it is not required. Let Bridge handle the cache itself.

Thanks,

Deepak Gupta

Two rigs,

- i7 - 16GB RAM - SSD main & pagefile disk

- i3 - 8GB RAM - SSD main disk

both WIn 7 x64, running very smoothly in other respects

Files on other HHDs, 1 or 2TB, 40-60% free space.

Bridge cache on different disk (not C).

On the i3 the problem is of course worse than the i7.

Ps 19.1.5

Br 8.1.0.383 x64

Cr 10.4

Usually working with Canon Mk3 raw files, and some jpegs from various cameras.
