Bridge couldn't find any devices to download

This is an ongoing issue. Bridge photo downloader will not recognize a SD or a CF flash card when inserted in a card reader. Am using the latest versions of  Adobe Bridge CC 2017 7.0.0.93 X64.

The message on the downloader window is NO DEVICE FOUND. I reinstalled Bridge - no joy.

Very disappointing to waste so much time with Bridge.
