Have installed Photoshop CS6 and in using Bridge I get the message "Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation". If purge the central cache as instructed, on the start up of Bridge I get the same message and are unable to use Bridge.

I am on a Mac using OSX 10.7.4

Your help will be appreciated

I had problem with Bridge CS6 cache too. Purging cache in Adobe Bridge CS6 > preferences > cache did not help. Tools > Cache > Purge did not work either. Here is how I solved it:

    • Force quit Bridge
    • At finder level, hold down OPTION key, GO > LIBRARY
    • CACHES > ADOBE > BRIDGE CS6
    • Delete: “Adobe Bridge Plug-in Cache” and the folder “Cache
    • Restart Bridge application.

It works for me! I am on iMac late 2013 using OS 10.9.5

You could also check out this forum posting with some other solutions such as manually cleaning up the bridge cache -- this typically resolves it:

How many times does Adobe expect us to do this before there is a realisation that there is another problem that is not solved by purging the cache?

I have done it so many times I have lost count and it still keeps reappearing.

Try holding down the Option key as you launch Bridgte until you see a dialog box offering you several possibilities.  Click on all of them.

    Good luck.
