Bridge CS6 Freeze for 20-30 seconds randomly while doing anything

Hi all,

I have a regular licensed Adobe CS6 full version for Windows with all the apps.

I process a lot of photos by Bridge, Camera RAW and Photoshop, the main work that I do is automated and batch processed. I have folders with up to 500 RAW photos, I do massive edit of groups of RAW files to match colors and lights.

Since a couple of weeks Bridge became sort of unstable, almost every time I do something, click on a folder, select a file, select two files togheter, click on the right mouse button, Bridge freezes for 20-30 seconds and I am totally blocked and unable to do my regular work.

I tryed all the possible solutions: upgraded system drivers, upgraded Windows, resetted Bridge preferences, cleared and erased cache, any possible solution.

I also downloaded the free version of Bridge 2020 and it is working fine, but it does not integrate with CS6 version of Camera RAW and Photoshop so it is useless for me.

I am really frustrated I am not able to work and follow the usual deadlines...

Thanks for any help.

I was able to replicate the problem and I found out that when Bridge CS6 freezes, if I disable the antivirus and then reenable it, Bridge start to work perfectly. This is very bizzare...

The antivirus is AVG Internet Security 19.8.3108 (build 19.8.4793.544), I already wrote an email to AVG support.

So for now what I have to do to make it work is right click on the AVG taskbar icon, then disable and re-enable AVG, and Bridge CS6 will works perfectly for the rest of the day, until I restart the PC, then I have to do that trick again (fortunately just one time).

Good afternoon,

Can you try to unplug from the net, and disable your anti-virus?

Is Chrome or other memory hungry programs running at the same time?

Hello, thanks a lot you for your suggestion.

I have unplugged the network cable and wifi, and disabled the antivirus. It seems that Bridge CS6 it is not freezing now anymore. Please note that Bridge CC2020 worked good while CS6 would freeze, now both works good.

Now I don't know if is for the network or for the antivirus because I disabled both togheter. When I will get more freeze I will disable only the network to check which one is badly interacting with Bridge to restrict the possible problems and I will report here.

By the way I reconnected the network cable and re-enabled the antivirus and still going good for now.

I will try to replicate the problem.

There are a couple of antivirus programs that cause issue.

One in particular virus app. was a problem.

I think it was ESET software

Which antivirus program are you using?

I have no crash report in the event viewer about Bridge.exe, it just freeze then go on with no crash. If when it freezes I kill Bridge I get this:
