Question

Bridge doesn't find my GD folder??

Hi! I have my PS files on Google’s MyDrive in a folder. MyDrive and the folder are clearly visible and functional on my iMac and MBP M2 at the Finder level. However, Bridge doesn’t see them, although the files are off-line downloaded, physically, on my iMac’s external disk. ChatGPT tells me that I can work with my files in this way (and it sounds just rational). By now, my iMac and MBP are working fine. I haven’t any other issues with my two Macs. This is (once more) a strange thing with Adobe products. No other app in my life has ever objected to follow Finder in my Mac! So, how can I see the files on my Macs?? Regards, Tuomas

PS. Photoshop user since v. 3. 🙂 Sorry, originally I sent this message accidentally to the Fresco group, as it was not obvious to find, as to how to find “Ask a question”, in contrast to the previous situation (when the tab was clearly visible on the front page).

Bridge does not support cloud services and does not work properly with them. You can search for various workarounds but its not reliable and you may end up with data loss.

OK. Now I found a preliminary solution: I went through Finder to open one of the files through Bridge. That opened, and the others. However, the folder isn’t still visible in Bridge. So by this cumbersome way I can see the physical files on my Mac’s SSD. Great.

I was suggested to choose the best answer by Adobe … There was no good answer but fortunately an answer explaining the situation (by ExUSA, thanks!). - I do use Adobe’s products, mainly Photoshop (since version 3), and my feelings concerning it are, to say nicely, mixed. To me Adobe’s PS is an iteration of Microsoft’s Word; a kind of rollercoaster, sometimes excellent, too many times like MS Word (my view on MS Word is based on its beginning up to 10 yrs ago; perhaps it is now decent). Anyway, I’m happy with PS’s current development, especially, because editing (with AI) has eased so many things. Regardless of this (surprisingly) positive “epilogue” I would like to see PS to be more adapted for taking advantage of cloud services, such as Google Drive.
