Bridge is duplicating photos when using Batch Rename

Bridge Version 13.0.3.693

 

I download photos - no problem.  I select several to rename - fill out the name and sequence number. It will change the name, but will duplicate the photo with the same number.  I have a work around, but it is a pain that I even have to do it.  

 

I am running Bridge and Photoshop on a Mac with Ventura 13.3.1

 

Anyone else running into this problem?

    - Is the issue specific to particular files/format?
