Question

Bridge is no longer viable for my workflow

I have spent a lot of time using the online help system in an effort to get Adobe Bridge back to a viable working state. This effort has been in vain. I will not return to using Bridge, as I have found a far better and more reliable alternative.

In an effort to provide more context to the above comment:

Adobe Bridge no longer works on my MacBook Pro M3 Max with 36 GB of memory. I have tried the latest updates without success. The last version I tried was Bridge 2025 version 15.0.4. I also went back to 2022 version, which had previously suited my needs, however it no longer behaves as it did. The main tasks I was hoping to achieve were:

  1. Viewing image previews in folders containing approximately 1,500 images in each folder. The images are 2.7 MB to 4.4MB jpeg files from a Canon 60D SLR camera
  2. Batch renaming these images as image sequences for producing time-lapse animations in Adobe Premiere

The renaming of the files in a single folder was taking a number of minutes to achieve, where previously it was well under 60sec. In the software I am currently using it is less than 10sec.

I have been using Photoshop for 31 years and bridge since its inception. Unfortunately I find Bridge is no longer viable for me, as my workflow has been destroyed by the latest updates. I trust that eventually such functionality will be restored, but in the meantime I need to concentrate on the production of my deadline-driven creative outputs without being distracted by file management issues.
