Bridge keeps changing the default setting for opening photos

I'm on Bridge 14.0 -- installed a few days ago. I change the default setting for various photos to Photoshop, but somewhere in the using of Bridge -- the default changes to Illustrator. When I'm working on 29 photos for a story -- this is quite the time-waster. Sometimes, when I close Bridge and reopen, Then the defaults are correct. But not always. Any clues?
