Bridge keeps stopping when importing photo's from camera

Does anyone use Bridge to import photo's from camera to computer? Lately it has been giving me grieve. Every time I try to import photos it stops after a few and I get a message on my screen saying Bridge is unable to import photo's and to check the camera connection to the computer and whether the camera had enough battery power. But these things are fine, that's not the problem. I recently updated to the latest version.

Does anyone recognize this and have any tips how to fix this?

I've seen this happen but not with an actual camera connected. I use the "Get Photos from camera" option when using a card reader. I generally there's no apparent reason why it stops. I think it has to do with the files its trying to import and you're settings. If Bridge comes across a troublesome combo it shuts down the import and displays the generic message. Sometime before it even imports a single file I get that message!

I've found that it occurs a lot when I have a video file (generally decent size 4K @ 60 or HD @ 180 for a couple minutes) AND I have convert to DNG on. Bridge gets to the video file, can't convert it and it fails. So I've had to go in and uncheck video files near the top and bottom of the list to get 3/4 of an import done before it stops. This is extremely frustrating since I'm never only working on one project. May be importing photos and working on a video in Premiere and an animation in AE, so it slows down my process. Its frustrating trying to navigate the files on your SD card in the Advanced Import window since there is no scroll bars and the sensitivity is super high, and then have it fail anyways.

Im about to update again and I pray this issue is fixed. Happens at home and at work.

Looping back to your question, try a card reader, I find one not built into the computer is more reliable. Also check if it happens with the same card or if its all your cards. Keeping an error log can go a Long way.

    Best of luck!

Have you tried a card reader or a different USB cable?
