Bridge keywords won't apply consistently

I have the same issue as the poster here: Keywords fail to write to file

Keywords fail to write to file

I select several photos, apply a few keywords, but they get applied only to a few of the files I have selected. It seems to work better if I don't try to scroll away from the keyword and wait patiently for one keyword to apply before I try to select the next one, but I haven't found a definite pattern. Like the other poster, I am able to add the keyword to all files in the end, by clicking the keyword another one or two times, but that's no way to work.

This problem started with the recent update.

I tried the startup script given in the other thread, it had no obvious effect.
