Bridge needs more care and attention

It is a great programme, but it could be much better and more useful with optional integration.

Why can't it access my Lightroom catalogue to improve searching

Why are the Bridge collections different from Lightrooms

Bridge and Lightroom have fundamentally different architectures. Bridge is an asset browser.  Lightroom is an asset database.

Bridge is designed to be used in constantly changing production environments where assets are always on the move or in a state of change before they are entered into an archive.

Lightroom’s architecture works most efficiently in an archive environment where the assets never change once they are entered into the database.  The library only grows with the addition of new assets to the database.

Bridge and Lightroom complement each other in a wholistic studios that recognize the independent natures of production and archive environments.  Neither is meant to be a replacement for the other. They each serve different purposes.

Its sad to see that so few digital artists these days fail to see the diffference between a workshop and a library in their studio work, and that the tools used in each should be different.  Then again, how many reading this have backed up their data this week?

Thank you Bruce, for reminding us.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
