I,

So, Bridge no longer displays tiff 16 bits thumbnails and preview.

Exported via Lightroom Classic or Photoshop.

Jpeg, PSD... files are OK.

Mac OS 13.4.1 (c), Bridge 13.0.3, Photoshop 24.6.0 and Lightroom Classic 12.4.

The only solution I found.
Erase my disk, reinstall MacOS, and reinstall all my Adobe apps.
Hours...
All this, simply because Adobe Bridge (and only Adobe Bridge) was not working properly.
Awesome !

Greetings Arthur and Gary,

I too have just started experiencing the same problem. This is my work computer iMac 2019 running Monterey.

This started yesterday and have the exact same issues as you describe.

I did reset pref but will not erase and reinstall everything as I am up for a new computer soon.

NONE of my co workers that use Bridge have this issue. I have been using it for years and so far so great!

What happened? It's strange and frustrating as I rely heavily upon it to help me work efficintly.

Anyway, has the problem come back or is your computer free from the BUG?

I also attched a screen snap for visual.

Dianna

Hi, @arthurp44861373, I want to make sure I'm understanding you. If you export a file from LRC or PS, if the file is 16-bit, that will not display in Bridge. 8-Bit images display just fine. Is that correct? (BTW, all JPG images HAVE to be 8-bit, both psd and tif images can be 8- or 16-bit.)

Here are some things to try: first, Purge the cache for that folder: Go to the Tools menu -> Cache -> Purge cache for xxx folder.

If that doesn't work, try rebuilding the Preferences for Bridge:

Quit Bridge (if running). Just before clicking on Bridge in the Dock or double-clicking the application for the Mac, press Command-Option-Shift. For PCs, press Control-Alt-Shift. Then open Bridge BUT KEEP your fingers on those keys until you see a window pop up. From the window, choose “Reset Preferences," "Entire Thumbnail Cache,” and/or "Reset Standard Workspaces.” In your case, choose "Reset Preferences."

Let us know if either of those solved the problem, good luck!

Thank you for your reply.

To be more precise, it is the Tiff images whether in 8 or 16 bits that are no longer displayed.
In the same folder, an 8-bit Jpeg, an 8 or 16-bit PSD are displayed perfectly.

I reinstalled Bridge (even tried an older version 12), purged cache, reset preferences...

Adobe Bridge simply no longer displays TIFFs, metadata are not read correctly either (Files properties, Exif...)
In all my folders.

Hi, @arthurp44861373 I know it's of little consolation, but I can see TIF images of any size. In a way, that's the good news; all we have to do is try and figure out why you cannot.

FWIW, I'm also on a Mac (13.4.1) and am using the same software as you.

How long has this issue been around? If the change was recent, did you install any software or upgrade your Mac around that time?

So, what do you see? Do you get a rectangle filled up with gray (and no image), or is Bridge not even showing you that? If you do get a thumbnail (with no image), what do you see in the Preview Panel? Can you tap on a tif image in the Finder and then press the spacebar? Does an image appear, or is that not displaying either?
