Question

Bridge not able to open image.

I just installed Bridge, and when I try to open an image to Photoshop, it says that is not able because it is not the "right kind" of document.

What is that all about? I tried to open both a .jpg and a .raw, and neither one worked.

Hi PhotoNatalia,

OK, I'll let some PC person hop in here to help. I'm a Mac guy, and you've provided enough information to let them help you.

Good luck

Hi PhotoNatalia,

Sorry, I need some basics: What is your OS, and what release (and if Mac, are you on the M1)?

Which release of Bridge are you using (and what release)?

Have you deleted any cache for that folder?

Have you rebuilt Bridge's Preferences?

Where are the files located (Please be specific, don't say "on my computer," please let me know where on your computer, or if it's on an external drive, let me know that.)?

Can you take a screenshot of this message?

After looking into it, I noticed that Ps is the culpabable. I open Ps and tried to opent the same image not using Bridge, and I got the same message. I Uninstalled Ps and installed it again, and the same issue. I'm using Windows 11.

Please repost in the Photoshop forum, a program error could mean a lot of things going wrong.
