Bridge not accessing disk volumes - duplicates

I am currently running Bridge 2018 CC version 8.0.1.282 x64 on a Windows 10 Pro machine - version 10.0.1.6299 build 16299; 24 GB memory and 8 processors; plenty of disk space.

After starting Bridge, I am unable to access the drives.  When I click on a drive to open, it sometimes duplicates the drive in the display but always just sits there and spins the accessing wheel in the lower left corner.  I am able to access the drives from Explorer without any issues.  I have tried starting Bridge as Administrator and have also deleted all the cache.  Nothing seems to work.  I have also rebooted my system several times.

Is anyone aware of any new issues on Windows with this version or a work around that I could use?

Thanks

Bob

Immediately after clicking to start Bridge, hold down those three keys and keep holding them down. Depending upon your OS, it may take several seconds before the Reset Preferences panel appears instead of Bridge opening.

It worked this time.  This time, instead of clicking the icon from the start taskbar, I clicked the actual Bridge executable.  I probably need to remove the icon from the taskbar and then attach it again.

    thanks for your help.

See whether a Preferences reset solves the problem.

Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences,

I tried this before posting this and tried it again after your reply.  I enter ctrl+shift+alt several times and the Reset Preferences never comes up.

i just tried removing my favorites folders.  I did that and then went back to the folders tab.  My access to all my drives then worked.  I shut down Bridge and started it back up.  At that point, the problem starting occurring again.  When I click on a drive the drive ID duplicates and nothing opens.
