Bridge. Permanent filter for all folders

Hello. I just want to see thumbnails of images and videos, not all files in folder. Always and in every folder. Is it possible at all??? Thank you.

It's not what i need. If you put new files in folder, they don't automatically added to the smart collestion if I'm correct. Therefore it's totally unusable. I believe any other image viewer has that option; I wonder why Bridge has not.

Are you correct? Perhaps you need to research Smart Collections in order to understand why I suggested that you use them. Perhaps it is totally usable after all!

Hint: View > Refresh (F5)

P.S. you could also look at the filter panel and the various “Show…” options under the view menu, however I believe that Smart Collections are the way to go.

You can use a pinned filter to lock your categories. Set the file types as you want then click the filter pin. As you browse, the filter stays selected.

    Glad you have solution that works for you. I did mention the filter panel in my reply #3, however it only shows file formats in the current browse – so just like smart collections you will have to set it up to show other formats. With the filter panel, you will need to do this each time you browse new file types. I think I misunderstood you when you said “always and in every folder” which I took to be the entire hard drive, which is why I showed the find/smart collection location at the root level. Reading your post again I think you meant just in any folder being browsed, which is what the filter panel is for. So two different approaches, both of which should achieve the same result in different ways.

      Edit menu > Find, something like this:

      Saved as a smart collection for easy access.
