Bridge Photo Downloader Issue

For the longest time the Photo Downloader wouldn't recognize the XQD card as a removable memory card, therefore would not download files. And it seemed to recognize SD cards as two separate cards. Giving the choice between #1 and #2. Both choices downloaded the files, but choice #2 would delete the files as directed following the download, and the other choice would not delete. Now that that issue seems to be fixed, there appears to be another issue. An issue of recognizing and downloading all the files on the XQD or SD card. I'm noticing when I load the app, the file count is in error. I had 95 NEF files to download and it indicated, initiallly, there were only 17 files. Refreshing did nothing. In order to correct the count, I'm having to close and reload the app several times before it recognizes the proper number of files on the card. If I wasn't aware of the actual image count, it would have downloaded only the 17 files and the rest would have been overlooked and deleted. Well, thank goodness it doesn't delete files as it is instructed to do so, eventhough it makes you think it is. I am using a MacBook Pro with Ventura 13.2.1. I just today updated Bridge to 13.0.2 thinking that would fix the problem. Not a chance

For those who use the Bridge Photo Downloader, make sure you are aware of the number of files on the memory card before attempting a download, as it doesn't always indicate the proper number if files for either an SD or XQD/CFExpress card. Make sure to either do a Refresh or close and reload the app until the correct number of files is indicated. This issue started after the last Bridge update and MacOS update.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

We are aware of some issues on Mac Ventura 13.2.
Have you faced this issue on earlier versions of Mac (Monterey or earlier)

Here is a help link for a workaround.

First off, thanks for the quick response.

As for issues with previous versions of the Photo Downloader. The only odd thing I noticed with earlier subscription versions was that it didn't recognize XQD cards as a removable media, therefore not downloadable. And that an SD card would come up as option #1 and #2 in the drop down list. Either selection would download the files. Not sure if both selections would download the associated XMP file. If my memory serves me, selecting option #1 would download the raw file, but would not include the XMP file or delete when finished. Selecting option #2 would do both, download the XMP and delete the files on the card. With the recent update, the dropdown list now shows the card as a singular option and ofcourse the refresh list option. That would be great if only it worked as expected.

You offered a workaround. My workaround involves knowing the number of image files on the card and either refresh (refreshing seems to update the file count) or close and reload the app until the correct number of downloadable files are indicated. And then reformat the card in camera to delete the files.

Thanks again, I hope this helps in your troubleshooting

Since I can't add to my original post...

Today I attempted to download 25 raw image files from my SD card. The 2 attached screenshots show the first time I loaded the Photo Downloader and it indicated only 9 files, out of the 25, were available for download. In order to get the correct number, I have to close and reload the app. Why??? If I have a large number of files to download, I'm having to close and reload the Photo Downloader several times for it to find the right number of files
