Question

Bridge randomly changing some DNGs to Grayscale

New bug just noticed today, version 10.1.1.116. When I open a folder of DNG files in Bridge, it starts converting almost all of the color thumnails to grayscale. I try to open those files, and they appear in RAW and in PS as 8-bit grayscale images. If I use Preview to view the supposedly grayscale images, they're in full color.

The odd thing is, it isn't all DNG images, just the majority of them. With no rhyme or reason that I can see as to why some of them continue to be correctly read as color images. Doesn't seem to be happening to PSD or JPG files that I've observed so far.

Okay, weird sorta-fix: Opening the images in Photoshop from Lightroom gets a color image. Save without doing any edits, and the image in Bridge now appears full color, and the thumbnails revert to color. Not just the one, but all the ones in that folder.

Try clearing your cache in the folders you are working in.

Did that, a couple of times. Still came out grayscale, until I tried opening something in Lightroom.
