Bridge ratings and file names not showing on filmstrip since 6/25 update

Hi everyone,

I hope you can help on an issue I can't seem to solve. I updated Bridge yesterday to 15.1.0.635. Since then all of my file ratings, file names have disappeared from the filmstrip panel. The rating and filename appear in the preview window; if files are stacked in the filmstrip the file name, rating and label show on each file in the stack; Files that have been given a label will show the label and rating only and not the file name in the filmstrip; all other files with just file names and a rating don't show the information. I have purged the cache and I can confirm that thumbnails only is not enabled.

I am stumped and hope that someone here has an answer to this issue or is it a bug in the update?

Any advice gratefully received, many thanks.

Hi, @lincgreg, off the top of my head, there are two things that can cause this.

Most common is that you've set your display to show only thumbnails. On the bottom right corner of the Content Panel, you'll see this:

 Uncheck that if it's checked.

If your Content Panel is narrow, then it will be a dropdown option:

Alternatively, it can be the size of your thumbnails.

Here, I am showing larger thumbnails. Note how everything can be seen.

Here, I've made the thumbnails smaller. Note that the labels are still seen, but the ratings are reduced to a single star, and the number of stars is provided.

Finally, at its smallest size, nothing is shown.

So, which one of these was the culprit?

Thanks Gary - thumbnails only is disabled and I have tried increasing the window to show the information and it makes no difference. Do you have any other thoughts?

Oh my, can you share a screenshot?

One other quick thought: reset your preferences.

Quit Bridge if Open. Just before clicking on Bridge in the Dock or double-clicking the application for the Mac, press Command-Option-Shift. For PCs, press Control-Alt-Shift. Then open Bridge, BUT KEEP your fingers on those keys until you see a window pop up. From the window, the options are: “Reset Preferences" and "Purge All Local Cache Files.” In your case, check both of them.
