Question

Bridge says no item to display, but there are some in directory

I have a relatively new install of the Adobe Suite and went into Bridge a few minutes ago.

I have a sub-directory that contains numerous numerous other sub-directories benath it, but also has about 15 .jpeg and 2 psd files in the first directory.

When I go into "folders" and click on the first directory I mentioned I get a message that says "No items to display." But, as I mentioned above, there are several items that should display, along with numerous sub-directories that contain literally hundres of items that could be displayed.

I don't think I have done a very good job of explaining this, but I have never seen this problem before. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with Bridge 2021 ver. 11.1.0.175 (German version, Mac OS 11.4)

This only happens with my SD cards. I can read folders and files from my SD cards in the finder. I can even import RAW files with the RAW Editor.

When I select the SD card in Bridge no folders and no files are shown. I tried to delete the cache (but it says no files processed and I assume there has never been a cache for it). Also no filters are set (it should show folders anyway).

Similar experience when I start the photo import tool. No pictures are found (message: no valid files found).

I have been using older versions of Bridge (CC 2016) for many years and this is my first experience with the new version. However I think I am quite experienced but no clue what I can do here (never had this with older versions).

Try resetting the cache for the folder being viewed:

Tools menu > Cache > Reset cache for folder…

Reset prefs using point #2 in the following link:

Troubleshoot Adobe Bridge for errors and freezes

Ensure that there are no filters in the filter panel or search options/smart collections hiding the files in question.

I tried starting Adobe Bridge pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) but I did not get the settings dialog, only the windows prompt about letting Adobe do it's thing. I'm guessing it is resetting preferences.

I also purged All the cache and nothing.

I still have the issue. I don't know what could it be.

    thanks.

Hi Seth, I have the latest Bridge 2018 and all of the sudden the search has no items to display. I also installed the 2017 version to see if that worked but the same happens. Is there a corrupt preference item I can delete maybe ? I tried uninstalling and installing but no luck. I am using Windows 10 latest upgrade.

Bridge is useless without the search engine.

    thanks
