Bridge - Show Items from subfolders

Version 10.1.1.166 – Why has this changed so much? Is there a way to have this (Show Items from subfolders) permanently on rather than having to click on every folder. Why are some files and folder just not showing anymore???

If you do a search, there is a script floating around to implement this. However, it can drastically impact performance.
