Bridge- Single Renaming Doesn't Work

I have to rename a library of files individually, and when I try to rename a file and press Enter, it goes back to the old name. I have to try the process 3-4 times before the new name sticks. I have about 10, 00 files to rename, so I can't be trying each on multiple times. Is there a way to fix this?

I would hope that there would be a possibility to batch rename!

Since your current method is working intermittently, you may consider resetting the Bridge Preferences.

Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

What method are you currently using (i.e. Bridge: Right click, Rename...newname.. Enter or via the Operating System: Right click as shown below)

through bridge, by right clicking image to rename. with the amount of images that need to be renamed along with keywords, it is not reasonable to do it through the operating system.
