Bridge struggles to export files with smart objects

This has been an ongoing issue over many versions of Bridge, and many Mac OS versions but I wonder if anyone else has the same problem?

I have files that include placed documents sitting in the layer stack as smart objects. Often these files get too big for some reason (becsause they have a placed doc?) so they have to be saved as PSB files.

Bridge has problems exporting these files. I think it is just because of the smart obects inside them. They do get exported but Bridge gets stuck thinking its still exporting and will not stop its progress view.
