Question

Bridge suddenly very slow, with crashes

Bridge is very slow, taking about a minute to recognize any selection, from thumbnails, to tool bar. If I select anything else in that lag time, it goes to "Not Responding". There have been no software changes, no updates, no changes at all to the system. I have reset the cache, reset the preferences, uninstalled Bridge both with and without keeping preferences. Restarted machine in between each step. Adobe remotely worked in my machine for about 4 hours on Thursday. Still no help. Bridge was fine Wednesday. All other software is running great. Machine is well equipped with i7, 3.4Ghz, 32G ram, running SSD drives.

Ideas?

I have had the same issues with bridge for a while now till i hit upon a setting that made bridge behave itself back to somewhat normal 🙂 it was basically the thumbnails of especially RAW files that were putting 100% load on all my CPU cores and the CPU temperature shooting upto 85-90 degrees resulting in crashes sometimes.

Try changing the preview size from High Quality to embedded and everythign should come back to normal and speedy check the attached image

Go to either Bridge or Photoshop and choose the Camera RAW Preferences.  Is the GPU acceleration activated?  If not, go to this article and see if you have the Temporarey Disable issue identified in the Logs.  Follow that procedure and reboot Bridge or photoshop, whichever you were in.

I have the same problem. I printed the 9 suggested fixes & tried the ones I felt I could do without screwing up my computer. I had brief success by changing from FOLDERS to Favorites but it didn't last. I removed the caches as recommended without any improvement.  I still have v 2019, 2020, 2021 for Bridege & PS on my computer.Should I go back to older v. , matching the  PS & Bridge years. For now, I'm loading my camera cards using either PS or Affinity (a great inexpensive program) , opening my raw files in PS to Camera RAW & then back to PS for futhur editing. Forget about Bridge!!

Have you tried this setting?  It may help. How many files are in each folder? Are there any video files in the folders?

I will, but since it affects the entire program, not just images, I don't expect it to help. No files were added or changed from one day to the next. It was fine, then not the next morning.

I am having a similiar issue. Camera Raw 13 hangs up and crashes my computer.

Anyone elese experiencing this problem,

Is there any way to delete Camera Raw 13 and go back to the previous version. I had no issues with crashes until the update.
