Good morning, and first of all, thank you very much for your time.

It would be great if you could help me.

Regarding your questions:

1. Windows 10 (I cannot install Win11 because I am missing the TCM module)

2. The file names are names under the pictures I took | This affects JPG and
RAW files

3. The problem occurs in all folders | I do not do batch renaming

4. I click on the image in the “Contents” window, then on the name, for
example “Bergpieper-20260104-01-mR.jpg” | When the name appears in blue and
I click again to rename it, the error message appears.

5. I did not use the tab key.

My question:

Bridge works fine on the laptop when converting files. It is the same
version 16.01.18 as above on the desktop

Can I simply copy the installed files from the laptop to the AppData |
Roaming | Adobe | Bridge 2026 folder on the desktop?

By the way, I was impressed that your question was a lateral pyramid. I
don't know what a lateral pyramid means.

Best regards and thank you again for all your efforts.

Detlev...

I hope that it works via the reply function.

Hi, @calm_adventure16B8, Your question first.

Here is your original question:

2026-01-08_06-50-34.png

If you rotate that 90° CCW, you get this:

CCW.png

Perhaps I should have said "rotated" pyramid.  That's what I was referring to, that's all.

But, back to your issue: I was hoping for something obvious, but I'm a Mac user, and I do not know how PCs set fonts when in use by applications. I am sure that one of my PC-Expert friends can come in here and provide more help than I can. Fortunately, via your answers, they should be able to come forward with something.

I'm very sorry, I cannot help you anymore.

Hallo calm_adventure16B8,

that's no longer a problem. Thank you very much for your efforts and your time.
I did the following:
I installed Photoshop Beta and Bridge Beta.
And everything works with this Bridge Beta... even renaming.

Then I went to a computer shop today and will have the TCM module installed on my motherboard in the next few days, and then I will install Win 11.

I think that might solve the problem. But until then, I can work with the beta version.

Many thanks and have a great 2026.

Hi, @calm_adventure16B8, Not sure I can help, but I do need some more information:

  1. What is your OS, and which release?
  2. Are there any specific types of files you are trying to rename, or any particular file type?
  3. Does this happen in all folders or only one folder?
  4. Is this with Batch Rename (Tools menu, 1st item)?
  5. Is this with clicking on the name in the Content Panel (first to make it active, waiting a moment, then clicking on the name again to make the name selected?
  6. Is this with #4 above, but going from file to file via the Tab key?

Again, sorry for all of the questions, but this will help narrow down the potential issues.

(By the way, I was impressed that your question was a sideways pyramid.)
