Bridge Will Not Convert Nikon Z7 Raw Files to DNG On Import

I upgraded my Nikon D850 to a Nikon Z7 and Bridge is no longer converting the raw NEF files files from the Z7 to DNG files upon import. With that said, the stand alone DNG file converter application will convert the files, but that is a longer work flow that I'm used to. Is there a solution to to this issue, or will it just take time for Adobe to catch up with the Nikon Z7 files?

Does Bridge/ACR support those files? If not, you'll have to import them and then manually convert to DNG later.

    That is the million $ question. I'm not clear if Bridge/ACR supports the
    files or not, but it's clear that I'm able to use the stand alone DNG
    converter to convert the files, but that just creates a longer workflow of
    me, which I'm trying to avoid.

    Hey Troy, 

    I've been having the same issue with uploading Z7 files via Bridge. Did you ever get it resolved?

    Hi there,

     

    We are sorry about the experience with Bridge while using the Photo downloader. 

     

    Would you mind sharing the version of Bridge you are using along with the operating system of your computer? Have you tried importing images from any other camera recently to check if Bridge is able to convert the files for that camera to DNG?

    Thanks for your follow up.

    I am currently using version version 10.0.3 of Bridge, and Windows 10.
    Prior to owning my Nikon Z7, I owed a Nikon D850 and had no issues with
    converting the RAW files to DNG from that camera upon import to Bridge.

    To that end, I still have an SD card from that camera and am able to import
    and convert those files fine. At one point I was advised by Adobe technical
    support that I needed to contact the manufacturer of the XQD card (Sony) as
    they suggested the issue was a read/write permissions issue with the XQD
    card, but in contacting Sony, they advised that there is nothing that can
    be done with the read/write permissions of the card.

    Hearing this, I then took some RAW files from my Nikon D850 and placed them
    on the XQD card from my Nikon Z7, and I was able to successfully import and
    convert those files to DNG, which eliminates the card from being the
    source of the issue, and points to the Nikon Z7 files somehow not being
    compatible? To that end, is there a files size limit for conversion, as I
    know the Z7 files can be quite large.
