Bridge won't rename or open photos!

Question

What now to interrupt my workflow!?Bridge won't rename photos in a folder on the desktop. Bridge won't open the photo in Photoshop as well.Directly in the folder, I can open in PSD and re-name them.I checked the read & write permissions, and it's set OK for everyone.What gives? Why are there so many issues in interface development at this late date?Is this an AI issue where Adobe senses sensitive material and freezes functionality? It can't be Apple, as the photos open on the desktop.You know what? Before you delve into your fantasy artificial intelligence stuff (junk) to overtake our lives and turn us into Eloi, please make the basic functions of the applications we workers pay for stable!! And stop changing the interface with the countless upgrades. It's annoying and interferes with workflow. It doesn't make things easier or better.Please get in touch with me for a complete dissertation.
