Bridge won't write metadata

On certain JPG images I get an window that pops up and says "There was an error writing metadata to "IMG_0233.JPG". Never had a problem before and now this is more frequent. 

I have the images on a flashdrive that I plug into my laptop (Dell). I have a keywords list that I use to tag each image. This is super annoying and inconveinient and appears to have been a problem in the past!

Please help!
