Question

Bridges changes the sequence of images when downloaded.

I have been having a problem with Bridge changing the order or sequence photos or shot on my camera. Originally I thought it was the camera, Nikon D600, but the problem has not changes even with newer cameras. This symptom was not present when I had CS5, only since I subscribed to Photoshop CC. This problem has really become an issue now that I am photographing high schools sports. Changing from Win 8.1 to 10 has had no effect on the problem and I have been doing all the Adobe updates.

My previous statemen:I’ve just read your image sequence problem, which I am also having the same issue with CC 2018. I too didn’t have this issue when using CS6. Have you found a workaround or solution to this. Hopefully someone from Adobe will be able to advise.

I have now now found a workaround, not perfect but workable.

Connect the cameras card via a card reader or cable. Open Bridge>File>Get Photos from Camera or setup automatically if using a Mac.

The Adobe Bridge-Photo Downloader window appears.

If if you have metadata templates made add these but do not rename, leave as shot.

Click Get Media, which will place images in your chosen folder.

In Bridge open folder changing the sort to, (Date Modifield) then batch rename. All images will now be in sequence as shot in camera Correctly numbered with IPTC attached...
