Hi @juno28415894wgs8 ,
Thanks for your feedback.
Could you share the following details about the issue:

  • System configuration
  • Is the issue specific to particular files/format? and Number of files in the directory
  • Before switching back to the directory, check if the cache of the folder has been generated successfully? This can be verified by ensuring that there is no message in the status bar below the content panel.
  • When you switch back to the directory, do you see a message such as “Generating thumbnails...” or “Generating previews...” in the status bar below the content panel? Also, check if this message is retained for a longer duration

Can you also try on latest Bridge 14.0.1, and confirm if the issue is reproducible on the latest version as well?

Thanks,
Bridge Team

Bridge works by caching directories it hasn't seen previously. It's not a catalogue based application. You did ask!

Try following solutions to see if caching can be speeded up:

1. In Prefs > Advanced, turn off monitor size preview building

2. In Prefs > Thubnails, try reducing the file processing size for really big files (Bridge has always been slow caching huge files)

Try following settings:

this should not happen.
check your cache size limit that is set in Preferences / Cache

If you have enough space on your system, increase the cache size limit GB value

I set 50GB in the settings, and my current cache file is only 10GB.
