Camera Raw Update + Adobe Bridge

I have a Nikon D750 and am unable to view RAW files within Adobe Bridge CS5. I only see the NEF thumbnail and not the photo. When trying to open the RAW files I get the following error message:

Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.

Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information.

I've tried updating my version of Camera Raw with 7.1 per Adobe's website, but it says I need to update my Adobe Application Manager. I try to update this but from the following link:  Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh

However, I receive the following error message:

Adobe Application Manager may be damaged. Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.

So, I tried it again but received the same error message.

I feel like this is just going in circles. I'm not sure what to do here, but I absolutely need a solution quick as I need to be able to view/edit these RAW files. Can anyone offer some help and/or options?

DNG should work perfectly fine and costs nothing to try. CS6 will be a $200 upgrade if Adobe still offers it.

CS6 however stops at Camera Raw 9.1.1 and the current is 9.7, so you will be back to DNG if your new Camera doesn't make the cut.

CS6 also has not been updated since 2012, and may not play well with future operating systems.

The Lightroom and Photoshop | Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan is $10 monthly for the annual contract and will always be upgraded.

So those are your options.

CS5 only supports up to Adobe Camera Raw 6.7.1  The D750 needs at least 8.7 (CS6).

Right now you can convert those raws into DNG format use the free DNG Converter.

Instructions and downloads for Mac/PC are here: Adobe Digital Negative Converter 9.x

Okay, so I need to upgrade to Photoshop CS6, then download Camera Raw 8.7?

OR, try the DNG converter? I will try that and see how it works. When the file is converted to DNG does that reduce the quality of the photo in any way?

Thanks Gene!
