Can no longer right click on folder to open in Bridge

Installed Bridge 2020.  I can no longer right click on a folder to “browse contents in Bridge” as I was able to in previous versions.  Right clicking on a folder simply shows “Bridge”.  Clicking on that opens an error message that partially states “This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action…”

Gee – I thought Bridge WAS the associated app for browsing a folder of images?  At least it was in the last version.

Please advise how I can fix this so I can continue to browse folders of images by right clicking on them and opening with Bridge.

It is getting to the point where I am as leery of updating my Adobe apps as I am of installing any Windows 10 updates.

I had a similar problem.  When I uninstalled Bridge 2019, it removed whatever shell extension or other setting was there to build the right-click context menu.  I uninstalled Bridge 2020 and reinstalled an immediately had the "Browse in Bridge" option again when I right-clicked on a folder.

OOPS.  Didn't see your last post before I composed mine.  You did the same thing.

It works here. I don't see the shell extension in Autoruns so Bridge must be adding it at runtime. Check to see if your antivirus is causing the problem.

Fixing permissions did not work (I used a tool for that from Microsoft's site).  And my security software (Bitdefender) showed all access given to Bridge.  I did solve the issue by uninstalling and re-installing Bridge.  However, on the new install I chose NOT to import preferences from any previous versions (even though those were all deleted from my system as well).

R-click the file select properties.

Under general you will find "opens with" selet change and have the file open with what ever program you want it to open with

Thanks for the prompt reply.  It is a folder so there is no option to "Open with" in file properties of Right Click.  Bridge used to show an option on right click to "Browse in Bridge" when right clicking on a folder.  That option seems to be gone.  Now, when I right click on a folder, I no longer see option to "Browse in Bridge."  Instead it just shows a generic option "Bridge."  Clicking on that pops up the error message that no program is associated with  the file, but again this is not a file it is a folder.

Got ya.

Unfortunately it works just fine here. Note screen shot.

You can try clearing your preferences.

This ncould be a permissions issue with windows.
