Can't open multiple files in Camera Raw - it does not even appear as an option in Bridge

I want to be able to edit multiple photos side by side so I can compare and apply lighting settings.

So my initial problem was not being able to open multiple files in Camera Raw via Photoshop. I would have Photoshop open and go Open as...> choose a TIFF file and open as Camera Raw. Opening a single photo in Camera Raw is fine, however shift-clicking multiple files in Windows Explorer wasn't working.

Some google results suggested to open the files via Bridge and to shift-click them there and open in Camera Raw. Shift-clicking works fine for selecting multiple TIFF photos in Bridge - but the Open in Camera Raw option simply isn't there, see attached screenshot. Any ideas for a solution? Thanks in advance

Please verify that your tif images do not have layers. If a tif image has layers, it cannot be opened in ACR.

I have a hunch that that's your issue. Please verify

Aha! You are right. The Tifs all had 2 layers. I merged them and saved as TIF again. Now the option to open with camera RAW comes up in Bridge.

Hello, can you give us the exact version of Bridge and Camera Raw that you are using. (About Bridge)

Are you running any third party panel/scripts, including custom file info ones?

They're up to date as of today. I found a work-around solution though. On a whim I downloaded a random RAW photo online and opened it via Bridge - the Camera Raw option showed up! So it seems it is my own TIF files that is the issue (it is originally a .png photograph converted into TIF). I converted them to jpeg instead and now I can select multiple in Bridge and when I right-click the Camera Raw option shows up, and I can edit them side by side in Camera Raw.

So, a bit unfortunate I had to resort to the jpeg format but now it works.

Check your Camera Raw Prefs (you can reach them from Bridge) and make sure that Tiffs are set to Automatically Open Tiffs with Settings.

In Bridge: Cmd Select, or Shift Select, multiple images and Cmd R (or double-click) to open all of them in ACR.

Hope that helps!

Those settings were already there from the beginning

So now in Bridge (not in Finder), multi-select all the images that you want to open and either Double Click or Cmd R and the images should all open in ACR.

Alternatively, hold down the Ctrl Key and choose "Open in Camera Raw" from the drop-down menu.
