Question

Cannot open Favourites folders in Bridge

I just got a new iMac M4, & expected Bridge to look the same as on my MacBook, but the interface is totally different. The main issue (of several) is that I cannot get any of the folders in the Favourites’ pane on the left-hand side to open. Normally I double click or right-click & select ‘open’, but neither of these work; the folders are unresponsive. I thought it may be an issue with the mouse, but the double & right clicks work everywhere else.

I’d be grateful for any suggestions!

Hi, @Alami08, since this is a new computer, have you set the Privacy & Security permissions in Settings yet?

I have not updated to Tahoe yet, but I can show you how this looks in a previous OS. It should be pretty similar. Also, I’m showing the updates for Acrobat, just substitute for Bridge.

Go to your Mac's Settings, and search for "security." That will get you to the settings that Apple uses to let you bypass their default "vault" protection. (This is a good thing.)

Starting off, you see this, note I have three things marked out.

Starting from the 2nd, Full Disk Access, if you select that, you'll see all of the applications that have been granted Full Disk Access. If you see Acrobat but it is not turned on, click on the switch on the far right side. If you do not see Acrobat, click on the "+" symbol on the bottom, locate Acrobat to add it, then turn on the switch.

Next go to Accessibility, same conditions as above.

Lastly, go to Files & Folders, this should already be set but depending on where it's located (such as a server), you may have to set this as well.

Again, all of the above may have already been done by you, but it's wise to check.

Thank you! I hadn’t tried this - I’ll give it a try!
