Card not found in Photo Downloader

I just upgraded my mac to Ventura, and the photo downloader won't recoginze my card most of the time. When it does, it doesn't find valid images on the card. It's been picky in the past, but now it just doesn't work. I am importing large photo files. I use the slot in the back of my mac for the sd card. Thanks for any help. I've tried both cards and my card reader doesn't work either.
