Columns reset to default when opening new content tab. How can I fix this?

I have my columns arranged how I like in my content tabs, but when I open a new tab it reverts to the default columns. I never rate or label anything so I don't need those columns and always delete them, and I like my size all the way to the right. Which means I have to delete and move my columns around every time I open a new tab which isn't realistic for a daily workflow. This happens when I click the hamburger menu for new tab, AND when I press the plus (+) button for a new tab, AND when I right click a folder and select open in new tab.

 

I've tried deleting my workspace and setting up a new one, but that didn't work. I've unistalled and re-installed Bridge but that hasn't worked either. No matter what the columns revert to default. Has anyone found a solution to this? Can I set the default myself? Is this a bug or a feature? I'm running a MAC Studio.
