Constantly showing duplicates of files

I've had this across multiple versions now, bridge just can't keep up. 

Running a fully specced mac and it consistently wigs out then shows duplicates of one image. 

If I flick through on preview all the duplicates are there too. 
I need to force quite bridge and reopen it to get rid of the non existant duplicates. 

Farrrrrking frusreating. Why is Bridge so slow and horrrible these days!
