Creation date removed when exporting with workflow

Question

When I let a photo be processed in Adobe Bridge by a created workflow, the creation date is deleted if I use the JPG file format. If I use the same workflow with the PNG file format, the creation date remains. How is this possible, I prefer to use JPG because of the file size?
