Question

Does Bridge write keywords to file?

Simple question, hopefully, simple yes or no answer.
To be clear, when I say write to file, I mean: are the tags/keywords written to the image files so that, when I look for images in folders in Windows Explorer, the tags show up in the details view of those windows.

Not all file types can have metadata attached to them - can't write to a .png.

A .png file supports IPTC and can store keywords, title, copyright, etc.

I see, it was updated in 2017. That is very helpful for me.

Be aware that there are four different namespaces where keywords can be saved. Bridge writes to dc:subject and sometimes to lr:hierarchicalKeywords, although the latter has significant bugs.

The best thing to do is try it for yourself so you can see what is supported.
