Double+click does not edit ACR in Bridge

I've spent many hours trying various versions of Bridge and Photoshop to see if I could get ACR to work in Bridge as it is supposed to work when the double+click option is checked in Preferences.  I have not succeeded.  I receive no error message of any kind. The only way I can load an image in Bridge to ACR is to use the context menu. I've opened Photoshop with a current subscription, as well as Lightroom, opened Bridge, closed it, then opened it again, and no change whatsoever.

Times past, Bridge worked great, even with my current Adobe software (when it was installed on my d: drive where I previously had installed Bridge and Photoshop).  Had to reinstall Windows 10, Adobe would install only on the OS drive, and after installing, I now cannot use Bridge with double+clicking.  Does anyone know how I might fix this problem?

Correct answer ThosAnderson

After spending another hour or so on this problem today, I have an answer to both the problems described in my cri de cour.  First, I thank you for letting me know that it was, indeed, possible to change the location for app installation. I had no idea one could do that, having searched many inquires on the net, none providing the information you have.

Secondly, as to the failure of double-clicking in Bridge to edit images in Camera Raw, the solution was found in changing the "double-click speed" on my mouse in Windows 10. I had the rate set rather toward the fast end of the slider.  I moved it into the middle range, reloaded Bridge, and found that the image was loaded into Camera Raw as it was supposed to work.

I discovered this solution by accident when I, frustrated, clicked the left mouse button rapidly about six or seven times, discovering that the image loaded into Camera Raw and zoomed, all surprisingly, I then recalled a similar problem in using PaperPort on one of my laptop computers, a message popping up that the click-rate needed to be slowed down.

Again, your assistance has proven invaluable to me.

BTW you can go into ACC app settings and change the default settings for installing Adobe apps to what ever mounted volume you want.
