Hi, I have a problem when I place files into an InDesign file, when I drag them from Bridge it freezes up both Bridge and InDesign for a couple of seconds.

Any solution to this?

I use version 11.0

Just out of curiosity, what is your OS and how much RAM do you have.

And of equal importance, how many applications do you tend to have open at any given time?

If my guess is correct, you might not have enough RAM to do the things you want to do. More RAM is necessary if (1) you have an application that demands lots and lots of RAM, or (2) if you have lots and lots of applications open. For example, when I'm working in InDesign, I often have Bridge, Photoshop, Word, one or two browsers open, Mail, Acrobat, FileMaker Pro, and maybe Lightroom and Lightroom Classic open. And, the other applications that I'm always running with: Snagit, HoudahSpot, Default Folder, Time Machine, Wacom, BackBlaze, and a few more. It's for that reason that I consider 32 MB the minimum amount of RAM for me to not have to worrry about it.

One thing you can do to test this is to restart your computer and start up ONLY Bridge and InDesign. If things go snappy, it is time to get more RAM into your computer.

You are using system resources and it appears you may not have enough horsepower.

Chances are the answer is no.
