Duplicate Collections do not preserve custom sort of the original. Tried every suggestion - drag and drop, "pre-set" manual, duplicate file in finder. Each method scrambles the sequence in the new collection. I do not want to rename the files in the original collection. Working with Bridge 2026, Mac OS 26.2. Is this a hopeless pursuit?

Sadly, yes. I’ve found only two ways to accomplish custom settings that stick: change the dates or change the names. I’ve been asking for custom sort orders that can be saved for purposes such as yours for over 10 years.

Please do add your wish for these things; the more the merrier. Just do not wait for dinner for these things to show up. You will go hungry. This is not pessimism; it’s just the sad reality. The Bridge team is small and has far too many wishes and real issues dumped on them. But, do go for it.
