Question

Duplicating or copy paste for quickly creating similar Smart Collections

I'm creating a set of Smart Collections that collate photos into their respective months rather than clicking clicking each metadata date in the Filter panel and manually keeping track of which date I've checked as perusing through.

To the best of my knowledge, and what I could search in these and other forums, there doesn't seem to be a way to duplicate a configured Smart Collection so I can rapidly edit the criteria for each month and year.

If that is the case, is there a better way to approach this task?

There is no direct option within Bridge to copy Smart Collections.

Right clicking on a Smart Collection gives these options:

Selecting "New Smart Collection" is equivalent to copying as this will create a new SC based upon the criteria of the one you selected. It simultaneously gives you the option to edit the search criteria as well.

However, if you really must copy them, copying can be achieved using your Operating System (I don't know what yours is) outside of Bridge.

If you are using Windows, you will find Bridge Collections here:

C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge 2024\Collections

Depending upon your Bridge version you may need to edit "2024".

There you can use the OS to copy and paste collections, then you will need to edit the copy within Bridge.

I do not know the equivalent Collections location on the Mac system.

I hope this may help you.
