Error message when attempting to delete files from within bridge

Mac OS 10.15.4.  Adobe Bridge CC 10.0.3.138.

  So frustrating to simply be able to highlight 10-15 images and delete them.  Now I get an error message and have to repeat accepting the error messag 10-15 times just to remove images.  "An error has occurred during the delete operation.  Some files may not have been processed."

And indeed I do find that after deleting some files if I later come back to that folder some of the files are back too.  What has happened?
