Exporting PDF's of previously saved images

With latest version of Bridge CC, If you have images that you want to export a PDF for and make changes to the external images, Bridge writes out the previous version of the saved image even after you've written over it. If you right click on the image and do a "Purge cache for selection" it updates the image preview in the content tab but still writes the previously saved image out as a PDF. Only after waiting awhile does Bridge finally update the data and write the correct image out as a PDF. The timeframe for waiting can be anywhere from 30 seconds to over a minute. If the changes are minor, it's impossible to really tell when it updates. This has never been a problem before CC. Please fix this issue.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for reverting back. Here's what I gathered from your workflow, correct me if I am wrong here:

1. Pin a folder containing images / assets in Bridge

2. Apply some edits within Bridge

3. Drag these images to Output Preview panel

4. Export the PDF.

Now, I would like to know a few more details here:

- File formats for these images / assets?

- After applying edits, are you able to see those edits in Bridge (If preview is updated), without purging cache?

- Are you working on a shared drive where other users might have different metadata applied to these images?

- Does the preview of image dropped to Output Preview panel matches the preview in Content panel?

Saurabh

Hi Ron,

Could you tell me a bit more on your export workflow. Are you applying edits before or after dragging the images to Preview Panel.

Regards,

Saurabh

Hi Saurubh,

What happens is, I'll drag a folder onto Bridge and grab the images I need into the Output Preview pane and export a PDF. If the client has changes, I'll make my adjustments to my photos and save them out. Sometimes this is as much as a couple days later, so I'll drag the folder with the images onto the Bridge icon and again, choose the images I need and drag them into the output preview pane and export a new PDF. The exported PDF will come out with the images in the state they were in before I saved them out. I have tried right clicking on the images in the content tab and choosing "Purge cache for selection" on the images. This seems to update the preview image in the "Content" tab but still outputs the old version of the file. If I wait a couple minutes without purging the cache for the image and see the content preview change it'll output the PDF correctly. Sometimes the revisions are obvious and I can use that method but sometimes they are small color revisions and I can't tell in the preview of the image and it gets sent to the client with no revision applied. One thing I will say is, our images are around 200mb in size so I get that it might take a little to update that info, but in CS6 Bridge, we didn't have this issue and the files were that size then also.
