Extreme Latency using Bridge across the network

In my company we experience extreme latency when opening files via Bridge across the network.  If we access these files locally like a hard drive then tis fine.  Is their anything that can be changed to get better performance when using bridge with external servers for multiple images?

Lumigraphics is right.

Bridge does not do a good job of NAS network access.

Working with graphic files across a network is likely to break, sooner or later. There are a lot of variables and the recommendation is to copy files to your hard drive and work on them locally. You can tinker with Bridge cache settings but may not find much improvement.

Thx.  Yea I was just hoping there was some settings for companies in the advertising world who operate in the same manner.  I do know it works good if we run it from a local solution but before we spend on a dedicated local server for the department figured I would check with everyone.   I have tried some cache setting adjustments, but is their a recommend approach?

Use a real DAM. If you cheap out with Bridge, you get iffy results.
